This recent article about and interview with Fran Walsh, co-scriptwriter and -producer of Lord of the Rings and Peter Jackson's partner, reminded me again how the LotR films (and now the Hobbit ones), scriptwise, are very much the work of three people, with the main emphasis on the two women.
